Dear @Mer__edith and the the amazing @signalapp team,

After the last update, the Signal "desktop app" is requiring us to launch the mobile app - however, many of us do not have the Android or any other "mobile" version of the Signal app any more.

We are a large (by our standards) group of phone users, and your "desktop" app is our "mobile" app : )

Our previous phones on which was initially activated was an Android or Apple device and we have since then completely migrated to . Some of us may have registered Signal on , Flare, , Signal Android in , etc.

The community is growing - we have members spanning a good number of projects and devices, e.g.
          - @purism and running -based , -based or ,
          - @PINE64 and PP Pro running , , etc.
          - @furilabs running -based ,
          - a wide variety of Android phones (including OnePlus 6, Google Pixel 3, 4 & 5) running -based @postmarketOS ,
          - @volla , and devices running by @ubports,
          - devices running @mobian which is part of project, etc.

[Apologies to any project I may have failed to include - you are all appreciated]

@CalcProgrammer1 This is great news! Nice to see things catch up with (and it's fork millipixels) which provided barcode scanning on / since some time.

Hi @phosh, I'm currently running with on a . It looks great and works very well. Thanks for all this great work!

I have a question though, because I'm not a big fan of background images. Is it be possible to completely disable the background image and have just a black background (or could a plain black background be added)?

I like the very clean non-distracting black background like it currently is on Byzantium.

What OS do folks run their on these days? PureOS byzantium is getting a bit long in the tooth and @phosh keeps announcing updates that are droolworthy, but out of reach 😕️. Is call audio on @mobian or @postmarketOS reasonably stable these days?

@aesthr @signalapp I'm still donating, but I also need Signal for Linux on ARM, because I use a as phone.

Also, it would be great if devices could be used as the primary Signal device.

Currently, I use a non-official Signal desktop flatpak on my phone.
